We want WhatsTheStack to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmarks.
- A 'skip to content' link and visible keyboard focus states.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Colour contrast that meets AA for body text.
- Respecting reduced-motion preferences.
Known limitations
Some third-party content, such as advertisements and vendor logos, may not fully meet our standards. We are continuing to review interactive tools for screen reader support.
Feedback
If you encounter a barrier, email hello@whatsthestack.com with the page address and a description. We aim to respond within five working days.
Our target standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That includes keyboard navigation, visible focus states, sufficient colour contrast, descriptive link text, text alternatives for meaningful images and respecting reduced-motion preferences.
Features that help
- A skip-to-content link at the top of every page.
- Data tables with captions and header cells so screen readers can announce them correctly.
- Calculators that update results in a live region, so changes are announced.
- Layouts that reflow to a single column on small screens and when zoomed.
Known limitations
Some third-party content, such as vendor logos and embedded advertising, may not fully meet our standard. Product logos fall back to text initials where an accessible image is not available.
