Advertising options and rules
WhatsTheStack is read by small-business owners, operators and IT leads comparing software before they buy. Advertising here reaches people at the research stage, and that only works if readers trust the reviews — which is why the rules below are strict and published.
We offer display advertising in clearly marked slots and, selectively, sponsorship of free tools such as calculators. Sponsored placements are labelled on the page and never appear inside rankings, scores or verdicts.
We decline advertising for products we believe would harm readers, and we reserve the right to review any creative before it runs. Advertisers do not receive previews of editorial content and cannot request changes to reviews.
- DisplayStandard ad units in labelled slots across category, review and guide pages.
- Tool sponsorshipA labelled 'sponsored by' credit on a free calculator, with no influence on its formulas or results.
- NewsletterLabelled sponsor slots in editorial newsletters, when available.
